Oil, Sand and Psychometrics |
MEOCO is
based in a country with only two sources of income: oil and invested
money from oil revenues. The company has been very reliant on expatriate
talent, both Eastern and Western, but the first Gulf War drove away much
of that talent, prompting many Middle Eastern Countries to develop a
long-term strategy to replace ‘expat’ technical and managerial expertise
with local talent. I was asked to help in the development of MEOCO’s
local managers, and here is the ‘story’. |

Changing Times - OPP Research |
It is
generally accepted that most change initiatives do not achieve their
stated objectives and that in 90% of cases this is due to people issues.
OPP commissioned this research to investigate why this is the case, and
if there are any particular people management areas that are pivotal for
the success of change projects. |

Lessons in Leadership - OPP Research |
OPP
commissioned this research to discover people’s views on leadership.
Specifically, the research set out to: explore whether people are
satisfied with the quality of leaders in their organisations, and in the
UK overall; identify the leadership qualities that people regard as
essential; determine whether people believe it is possible to teach
leadership skills; and, determine whether people think men are better
leaders than women. |
